
Edward was first elected to the Board of Directors of Weyburn Co-op in 1971, serving as President for 11 years from 1987 - 1998 in 2007 Ed will have served 12 - 3 year terms.
Ed was involved with much of the growth that the co-operative has experienced over the last many years including: the purchase of Trucker's Inn and the development of the Crossroads Convenience Store and Maintrack Cafe location; the consolidation of the new food store on 2nd street to the old Assiniboia School location in 1975 and the expansion of the food store to consolidate the pharmacy and food into one location in 1997; the construction and added service of the food store Gas Bar in 1993; the purchase and remodeling of Sud' City in 2000; redevelopment of our home centre and most recently the revitalization of the downtown with the development of the Metro Centre.
Ed has attended many Federated Co-operative's Annual Meetings and Fall Conferences, many times acting a a Delegate of Weyburn co-op.
Ed is a very dedicated Board member and feels that, with the additional competition now coming into the community, the Co-operative has a strong role to play in assisting in the economic development of the community.
