Don was born and raised in the Creelman area and later received his B.A. (Honours) in economics from the University of Saskatchewan, an M.A. in agricultural economics from the University of Alberta and graduated from the University of Toronto Law School.

Don and his wife Diane have three children and in 1996 Don and his family returned to Saskatchewan to take over the family farm. Don joined Kim Thorson in the practice of law in Weyburn in 1998 and he and his family now reside in Weyburn.

Don is currently a member of the Facilities Committee and brings a great deal of past experience and knowledge that will be valuable to the Weyburn Co-op.
